About the role
Housing Choices is seeking a Finance Operations Manager to provide financial leadership and direction within our Finance Operations team and across the broader business.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, The Finance Operations Manager will lead the Financial Accounting & Reporting and Payroll teams as well as act as the financial custodian and owner of internal controls within Housing Choices.
The successful candidate will be a proactive and supportive leader who will foster a culture of growth, whilst driving continuous improvement initiatives across all finance processes and systems, leveraging technology to enhance operations and data accuracy.
About you
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in both public and private sectors, ideally within real estate, property development, public/community housing, or related sectors. You will possess the skills to lead financial accounting activities, and ensure accurate reporting and compliance with standards. Additionally, the role involves leading payroll processing, addressing discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
What will help you succeed
- Minimum 5 years + proven experience and successful track record in a comparable role or discipline in private real estate, property development, public/community housing, or transferable sector
- Relevant tertiary qualification in finance or business, with CA/CPA qualification required
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including vendor payments, invoice processing, reconciliation, billing, collections, and reconciliations
- Experience preparing management, business and regulatory required reporting
- Experience overseeing financial processes, controls, and systems for accurate and reliable reporting, ensuring adherence to policies and regulations
- Experience in managing end-to-end payroll function and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations
- Track record of developing effective internal relationships and collaborations to advance strategic agendas and achieve outcomes through financial insights and analysis, supporting strategic plans and decision-making

- Provide a current driver’s license and willingness to travel across Housing Choices’ locations, if and as required.
