Finance & Payroll Officer

SPL Security Solutions have branches in Brisbane, Ballina and on the Gold Coast, we offer products and services to the Electronic Security, Locksmithing and Building industries. Our service is extremely well regarded in these sectors, and we are market leaders in our region.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Finance and Payroll Officer to join our team located at our Head Office in Bundall. 

About the role

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Weekly and monthly reporting
• Preparation of monthly P&L
• Working with AP and AR to record appropriate GL entries
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
• Weekly and fortnightly payroll 
• Maintain accurate payroll records and respond to employee queries related to pay and leave
• Oversee and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings in conjunction with external accountants
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Assisting with annual budgets and forecasts 
• Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement of finance processes and work with the team to implement agreed changes
• Stay up-to-date with tax regulations, superannuation requirements, and other legal obligations 
• Administration of PAYG, Superannuation, FBT Return, Q Leave portal and Workers Compensation schemes.

Skills and experience

Due to the variety of tasks you will be doing on any given day, it is important that you can demonstrate:

• Experience with Excel
• Previous experience with Xero will be highly regarded
• Previous experience with simPRO will be highly regarded
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Great Customer Service skills

National Police check will be required for successful applicant. Australian Work Rights required.
