Reporting to the Team Leader Transactional Finance, you will be required to assist the team with:
- Maintaining daily cash balances
- Preparing accruals, prepayment and other accounting adjustments and journals to reflect correct period of expenditure, in accordance with the City's policies, processes and procedures
- General ledger and bank reconciliations and analysis
- Maintaining relevant registers, databases and systems, ensuring that information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible as required and meets legislative requirements
- the City's Treasury management function in accordance with the City's Investment Policy
- Administration and maintenance of credit cards
- Preparation of working papers for the Annual Financial Statements for audit purposes as directed by the leader
- Other tasks as assigned by the Team Leader to support the team to provide timely and accurate outcomes.

To qualify for this role you will have the below skills and knowledge:
- Be a team player
- Experience in a similar role will be highly regarded
- Intermediate administrative and financial skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to reconcile accounts.
- Intermediate MS Excel and Word skills
- Effective communication and problem- solving skills.
- Effective customer service skills.
- Effective organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- Knowledge of the practical application of occupational health and safety measures in the workplace including hazard identification in an office environment
- Effective understanding of accounting principles and their applications
