AddressWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Hotel Finance Specialist. The Finance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of financial activities within the hotel. This position involves managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the hotel team in various administrative tasks.
You will work very closely with the Director of Finance and Business Support along with the day-time Duty Managers / Night Audit Team. This is a full-time position based at our hotel location with WFH flexibility. Training and support will be provided to help you succeed in this role.
What we need from you:
- A relevant degree in accounting or finance, working towards CPA or CA qualifications
- Accounting experience in a professional setting advantageous.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, possessing a high attention to detail
- Proven organisational and communication skills
- Experience in a Guest Services/Front Office/Night Audit/Finance related position with supervisory experience, preferably within a hotel/hospitality environment advantageous.
- Computer savvy and particularly versed in Microsoft Excel, you'll have experience using hotel property management systems (Opera) and be able to share your expertise with the team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multiple projects and prioritise workloads.
- Ability to manage complex relationships along with demonstrated ability to interact with guests, staff, and third parties that reflects highly on the Hotel, the brand and IHG.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising, guiding and assisting the offshore accounting team for accounts payable, receivable, banking related functions.
- Verify and reconcile invoices, expense reports, Supplier Statements and other financial documents.
- Daily Credit card and Bank reconciliation
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports
- Ensuring that the supplier contracts' register is correctly maintained and up to date
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Responsible for accounting internal controls and assist with both internal and external audits
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding payment and invoicing issues
- Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing procedures
- Respond to inquiries and requests for financial information from internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies and improve financial processes
