An opportunity has become available for a dedicated and enthusiastic Finance Support Officer to join our Team.
The Finance Support Officer will play a crucial role in providing support to our Billing Team, Creditors and Payroll Officers. We are looking for an experienced, friendly, quick learner who is professional and approachable.
This is a PPT role – 37.5 hours/fortnight
Week 1 – Monday and Friday
Week 2 – Monday, Thursday and Friday
About the Role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager and you will be responsible for:
- Working across Creditors, Debtors, Medical Billing and Payroll.
- Providing support to the Creditors Officer, as directed, including preparing payments, entering invoices to MYOB, End of Month creditor reconciliations and electronic business banking.
- Actively and appropriately following up outstanding debtors.
- Supporting the Medical Billing Officer in the processing of patient accounts, including prosthesis, health fund payments and health fund and patient refunds.
- Providing accurate hospital quotes to specialist rooms.
- Proactively investigating to resolve any patient account or health fund queries and responding accordingly.
- Providing support to the Payroll Officer, as necessary, including occasional payroll processing, superannuation, salary sacrifice, PAYG and resolving queries.
- Other Creditors, Medical Billing and Payroll Support duties as required.
About You:
- Finance experience in a health service and understanding of the private health system.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Proficient in the use of MYOB (creditors) with an understanding of GST.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
- Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Shows initiative and has strong and conceptual problem-solving skills.
- Compliance with Privacy and Confidentiality at all times.
- Familiar with medical terminology.
- Work in a team environment and positively respond to workplace challenges and changes.
- Meet the Immunisation & National Police Check requirements.

Glenelg Community Hospital is a Not-for Profit hospital located in the seaside suburb of Glenelg South and is fully licensed with inpatient rooms, day surgery, two operating theatres, and two procedure rooms.
