Summary

Full-Time, 3 Year Fixed Term Contract

At the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), we are committed to achieving innovative, ground-breaking health and medical research that fundamentally improves the quality of life for all people.

SAHMRI are seeking a motivated Infrastructure Support Officer to join the Facilities team, to undertake general hand duties that support and enhance infrastructure services within institute. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the role will also interact with a range of external stakeholders including stock providers and couriers.

About the role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate all deliveries to the SAHMRI building and the distribution of goods in SAHMRI including physical transport and notification to recipients.
  • Assist with the central stores function.
  • Receipting incoming goods and dispatching customer orders
  • Maintaining warehouse shelves and pallet racking
  • Assist in arranging furniture and setting up for functions in the auditorium and at other times when key events are held.
  • Operate equipment used in transport of goods within SAHMRI.
  • Provide manual labour assistance on various tasks and assignments.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • Minimum Year 11 secondary education.
  • Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.
  • Be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision and able to take direction for tasks from multiple individuals.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Confident interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer focussed approach.

Special Requirements

  • Ability to handle heavy manual labour and lifting.
  • Some out of hours’ work may be required.
  • DCSI Employment Screening and Police Checks may be required.
  • This position requires a pre-employment medical examination to determine suitability for the physical requirements of the role.
