Career Employment Group Inc is currently seeking applications for a Finance Trainee to join our Head Office in Whyalla. This is a part time position, working up to 2 days per week. This position is part of our Corporate Service department, which provides finance support to our entire organisation.
This is a multifaceted role, where you will contribute to the overall success of our finance division. As a Finance Trainee you will also use your customer service skills and provide exceptional support to our internal and external stakeholders.
As a Finance Trainee, you will have excellent attention to detail, and an ability to undertake analysis of information. You will be supported in this role by our Finance team, who will guide you and train you to be able to competently undertake tasks
This role is very well suited to someone who is embarking on a career in finance. If you have strong interest in accounting, have undertaken accounting in Year 12 or in the early years of an Accounting degree at University, this role provides great exposure to different finance processes.
As this is a Traineeship, you will undertake a Certificate 4 in Accounting and Bookkeeping.
Key responsibilities in this role will be:
- Assist the finance department in all areas of accounting, including accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Support with all accounting needs such as journals and cash flow forecasting
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Organise creditor invoicing, payments, and allocations
- Set up new starters in a payroll system,
- Payroll processing for weekly and fortnightly pay cycles
- Assist with debtor management such as debt collection, report analysis and statements
- Assist with claims and reimbursements
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Minimum completion of Year 12 (or completing in 2024), or having undertaken Accounting in Year 12 would be highly regarded
- Experience in the use of Microsoft office suite
- Quality customer service skills
- Time management and prioritisation skills to work in a fast paced environment
- High attention to detail
- Be innovative with technology and accepting of changing work practices
- Ability to multi-task and meet competing deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment as well as autonomously
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
This position will require background screening and a pre-employment medical inclusive of drug testing.
