We have got an exciting opportunity for Financial Accountant to be part of our team at ECA Group in our Sydney office. This is a full-time maximum term role until 31 August 2024, and we are actively seeking candidates available for an immediate start.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the role will work within the Finance Team across the ECA Group as a support for audit and system implementation and a business partner for our VET, all ECA Colleges and our growing Online business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the maintenance of financial Ledgers of all ECA Group Companies
- Managing month end close process for all ECA group companies, including management of balance sheet review process and its quality
- Assist with the Group audit
- Support relevant team members in clearing legacy GL issues and compliance back logs.
- Support finance team in fixing issues in the current student management system to enable clean data set transfer to the new system.
- Supporting finance officers in day-to-day transactional work as required for the new ERP system.
- Assist with the implementation of new ERP as required.
- Month end management reporting for specific brands under the ECA Group.
- Month end Corporate management reporting (Marketing, IT and Other Costs).
- Assist Group Financial Controller as required
As the successful candidate you will ideally have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance and CPA / CA or studying towards.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, GL control, month end closing and financial reporting for a group of preferably large privately held companies.
- Proven experience of financial accounting and reporting.
- Working knowledge of Xero or a similar accounting system.
- Working knowledge of an ERP system (TechnologyOne is preferred).
- Advanced analytical and Excel skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Australian taxation requirements e,g. GST, FBT, PAYGW, PAYGI, Payroll Tax and Income Tax.
- Experience of preparation of monthly financial reporting packs.
- Experience of preparation of monthly management packs.
- Detailed oriented and focused on completing work with accuracy and timeliness.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of multifunctional teams.
