We are currently seeking detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant (ASO5 level) within the SA State Government on a temporary contract.
The Role
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform financial processing functions and prepare accurate and timely financial reports.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of systems ensuring compliance with external standards and reporting requirements.
- Provide expert financial accounting advice.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience Required
- Degree in Accounting.
- Experience in preparing financial statements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Experience in finance-based project work.
- Knowledge of public sector financial frameworks, legislation, and processes.
- Ability to ensure the integrity of SA Government financial transactions.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team, showcasing advanced time management and organisational skills.
