About the Role
Operating within NEPEAN’s shared services function, the Financial Accountant will have the opportunity to work with various companies across the country. This position is ideal for an Accountant with a commercial background that can confidently build strong relationships with senior stakeholders. This is a full-time opportunity, based in Narellan, NSW.
This position will require you to;
- Action various accounting tasks across multiple NEPEAN businesses including budgeting, forecasting, reconciliation, FBT calculations and fixed asset management.
- Take accountability for month-end close and reporting, including journals.
- Prepare monthly variance reporting with analytical commentary.
- Drive process improvement and identify new initiatives to promote the use of best practice.
- Undertake project accounting and become a valued contributor to project review meetings.

The Right Person
The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded Accountant with a collaborative approach, who values effective communication. The ideal candidate will also have:
- Tertiary qualification/s in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the full accounting cycle.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
- Previous experience with project accounting, or the desire to learn.
- Previous experience with Pronto, SAP or similar.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Exceptional levels of attention to detail, while adhering to various deadlines.
- Business and commercial acumen with the ability to address and solve complex problems.
