Nestled amongst the towering rainforests of the Emerald Lake Park precinct, the Lakeside Visitor Centre was opened in 2021 with the vision to enhance our customers' experience within the surrounding Emerald Lake Park precinct. Here, we offer purpose-built indoor and outdoor event and dining spaces, two state of the art function rooms, a busy retail space and an interactive museum.
The opportunity
We are now looking for enthusiastic and experienced Food and Beverage Team Leads to join our team in Emerald, on a part - time basis ( approx 30 hours pw) to support Front of House and Commercial Supervisor to run the day-to-day front of house service in the café. Duties will include; stock control, ordering and rostering. In addition, you will be responsible to help run some of our regular events along the rail corridor on a regular basis.
In this role, you will provide a high standard of customer service to all our visitors, always role modelling best practice to the Food and Beverage Team across all locations in our Puffing Billy Railway.
Responsibilities include:
- Support and guide the team on duty to ensure efficient and effective service
- Support of the team during Special Events
- Responsible for opening and closing of the commercial site as required
- Ordering of stock and maintaining stock levels as required
- Assist with the creation of rosters as required
- Assist with roster management ensuring all shifts are filled as per employee agreements and in alignment with the financial requirements of the business
Please note: As our services operate seven days a week, some weekend work would be required for this position.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will have experience working in a similar role, preferably in a fast paced Food and Beverage environment. You will also have previous experience leading and mentoring a team of people and organising team rosters.
We are looking for an energetic and outgoing person who can coordinate and work with conflicting priorities. Above all, you will have strong communication and emotional intelligence skills and the ability to build effective relationships with the team and our customers.
