Matekin Group, a dynamic and growing Restaurant and Bar group, is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. This full-time, salaried position is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive professional looking to advance their career.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of bookkeeping and financial reporting through Xero, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Responsible for the complete handling of payroll, including wages and related tax filings.
Monitor and report on Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) to help optimise profitability.
Utilise various software platforms for financial management and reporting to streamline operations and provide real-time insights with leading softwares in the industry. We are fully engaged with AI and working with leading AI softwares to simplify and optimise our operations.
These Softwares include Xero, Employment Hero, Restoke, Brideye, Asana, HubDoc plus more.
Work closely with management to prepare budgets, conduct variance analysis, and implement financial strategies that align with the group's goals.
Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and financial institutions as required.
Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
Strong proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and Excel; experience with industry-specific platforms is a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
What We Offer:
A competitive salary range of $75,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
