Financial Accountant | Fs | Immediate Start | 6M Ftc

MARS Recruitment is excited to partner with a rapidly expanding Financial Services company. Currently, they are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant for a 6M Fixed Term Contract. In this role, you will take charge of crucial tasks such as overseeing month-end closure, managing accounts payable and payroll, contributing to both management and financial reporting, and facilitating year-end reporting processes.
This opportunity provides an exceptional platform for an experienced Financial Accountant to showcase their expertise in financial control and reporting responsibilities, while also playing a pivotal role in a dynamic and expanding organisation within the financial sector.
Responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end close process, review balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare consolidation reports.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor and analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts and provide insightful recommendations.
• Processing of accounting operations, including accounts payable and payroll.
• Reconcile balance sheets and investigate discrepancies in variances.
• Manage the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation schedules.
• Process monthly and quarterly tax compliance, including FBT and BAS.
• Take a proactive and hands-on approach to resolving finance matters that arise within the team and across the business.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and implement new processes while being a key influencer.

Criteria:

• 5+ years' post-qualification experience in financial accounting
• CA/CPA qualified (or international equivalent)
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
• Prior experience in Fintech/Financial Services desirable
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills

• WFH: 4 days in the office.
• Open to Working Holiday Visa holders
