You'll be joining a well-established and ever-expanding team at The Yard Brisbane (TYB). We stand as one of Australia's premier marine service facilities, catering to superyachts, tugboats, and clientele from across the globe. As a comprehensive ship repair and maintenance facility, we oversee projects encompassing shipbuilding, refits, painting, metal fabrication, carpentry, abrasive blasting, composite works, engineering, and heavy lifting.
As a Junior Financial Accountant at The Yard Brisbane, your typical day may involve:
- Preparing monthly financial reports
- Handling BAS preparation and reconciliation
- Managing banking tasks
- Preparing and entering general journal entries
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Ensuring revenue account reconciliation
- Providing support for various accounting duties
What does it take to excel in this role?
- Relevant accounting qualifications are highly preferred
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
- A deep understanding of financial reporting principles
- Exceptional numeracy and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Sharepoint, and OneDrive, as well as accounting software packages (with preference for MYOB)
- Strong communication and presentation skills for collaboration with senior stakeholders
