Financial Accountant

ROLE OVERVIEW

Based just 30 minutes from the Melbourne CBD in Warrandyte South, Rob Dolan Wines presents an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team. The role involves delivering smooth financial operations across several departments to maintain business success. You will play a vital role in our winery’s financial operations to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting processes.

This is a full time role with an immediate start

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee day-to-day financial activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and debtor management and cashflow management,
• Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and weekly/monthly domestic and international sales reports.
• Handle Business Activity Statement (BAS) preparation, maintain ledgers, perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare year-end reconciliations.
• Assist with quarterly stocktake, investigate variances, and reconcile bulk wine volumes in collaboration with the wine production team.
• Oversee weekly payroll preparation and manage bank accounts, including transfers, direct debits, and cash flow analysis.
• Assist in sales forecasting, highlight production requirements and potential shortages, ensuring alignment with production capabilities.
• Oversee statutory company records and documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in finance to enhance day-to-day operations.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Experience: 

• Tertiary Qualification in Accounting.
• CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) qualification, or progress towards these certifications.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar financial accounting role.

Professional Skills:

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Drive, and Google Documents.
• Demonstrated attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial information.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to manage relationships at all levels.
• Highly organised and able to multitask and prioritise effectively.
• Customer service orientation, with a focus on problem-solving and critical thinking.

• Experience with EZY software advantageous
