Mater Group Finance has an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for experienced and driven Financial Accountant to join their growing team. These positions are based in our purpose-built offices in Newstead.

Salary range: $ 96,902.68 - $105,439.83 (MCA Level 5) per annum plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900
What you'll be doing
As a Financial Accountant your duties will include (but not limited to):
- Execute the day-to-day accounting activities within your portfolio
- Execute month end close processes in line with the timetable
- Prepare accounting journal entries and review of journals
- Provide analytical support during period end reporting processes
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations
- Review of Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations
- Provide support with the bank reconciliation process (where applicable)
- Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations (where applicable)
- Prepare funding acquittals in accordance with the timetable
- Assist the Financial Accounting Supervisor in the preparation of the statutory financial statements
- Support the Tax Accountant with completion of taxation returns
- Support the external audit process
- Identify internal control issues and improvements and provide support in ongoing process improvements
- Lead, mentor and develop within your team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to effectively achieve business objectives and meet deliverables.
- Completes all other tasks as requested.
As the successful applicant, you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce/Business.
- CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) qualification essential
- Proven experience in an accounting role within a large complex organisation, especially with month end close process
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary and evolving accounting practice including knowledge of relevant accounting standards and related legislation
- Health specific or large/complex sector background highly regarded
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 highly regarded
- Demonstrated capacity to consistently deliver a high level of customer service and to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with internal and external customer
- Demonstrated ability to manage change in a positive manner, manage projects, set goals, meet deadlines and prioritise workloads
