We are actively searching for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join our team in the role of Financial Accountant on a full-time basis. As the Financial Accountant for MEA you will be required to maintain financial records, provide assistance with managing monthly reports, and guaranteeing adherence to accounting standards and regulations. A primary responsibility involves overseeing the accounts receivable process specifically related to membership fees generated through our CRM system.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our highly regarded Finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager, where you will offer support in routine activities as well as process enhancements.
The Role
- Preparation of month-end general ledger journals, workpapers and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of management reporting pack for the business.
- Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register.
- Preparation of ad-hoc reporting as required.
- Identification and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Continuous improvement of financial reporting and analysis.
- Researching and advising on technical accounting matters as required.
- Stay up to date with financial regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist and support the Finance Manager with the annual external financial audit.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly Business Activity Statements for the company.
- Preparation of payroll tax returns, and WorkCover declarations.
- Preparation of the Fringe Benefits Tax return.
- Assist the Finance Manager with preparation of the Annual Financial Statements.

To be successful, you’ll bring at least 3 - 5 years' experience in a similar position, with a high degree of drive and initiative.
Additionally, the ideal applicant has:
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce/Business with an accounting major or equivalent and relevant workplace experience.
- Studying towards Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) or (CA)
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills
- Experience with Xero - highly regarded
- Practical experience with accounting software, spreadsheets and databases
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts including crediting and debiting appropriate accounts, posting entries to ledger accounts, and reconciling accounts
- A good understanding of technical accounting skills in Australia, including regulatory requirements
