Outstanding opportunity to join a leading boutique alternative investment management firm specialising in private markets in the Asia Pacific region. Headquartered in Australia, Roc Partners has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role plays a crucial role in maintaining the company's financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position involves a range of responsibilities and tasks.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Handle the day-to-day financial transactions and accounting processes across multiple entities and jurisdictions
- Have ownership of the accounts payable process which includes processing payments on a fortnightly basis
- Assist with the accounts receivable process including reconciliation and collection
- Assist with month-end closing processes and posting routine journal entries
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts for completeness and accuracy
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including drafting meaningful commentary on balances and movements
- Assist with budgeting and cash flow forecasting activities
- Collaborate with internal teams to support financial decision-making
- Participate in the auditing process
- Keep abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards
- Utilise financial software systems effectively for data integrity and reporting
- Act as the administrator for the expense management system
- Provide support during tax preparation and compliance activities
- Assist in preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Maintaining relationships with external stakeholders such as banks, suppliers and auditors
The ideal candidate for this role will have strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. They should also be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team while demonstrating a commitment to accuracy and integrity in their work.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Xero)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience as a financial accountant or similar role
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable
- Audit experience is an asset
- Experience with BAS and payroll tax will be preferred
- CPA / CA or working towards relevant certification is preferred
