About the Role:
Aurizon is offering an exciting opportunity for Financial Analysts to Senior Financial Analysts to join the well-established Coal Commercial Finance team within our CFO and Strategy unit in Brisbane.
The purpose of this role is to support the Coal Customers commercial team by ensuring contractual, operational, and financial data is accurately captured and recorded in accordance with contractual obligations, revenue opportunities are maximised and risk positions understood.
You will support internal and external stakeholders through the interpretation and application of contractual clauses, financial analysis, and reporting of operational and commercial performance with a focus on continuous business improvement.
Role Responsibilities:
- Actively engage with key stakeholders to undertake business process and system improvement initiatives, with the objective of enhancing the integrity of operational and commercial data.
- Analyse and challenge complex financial problems, data sets, information and commercial mechanisms to identify key financial and non-financial drivers that influence quality commercial decisions.
- Manage and maintain accurate operational data within revenue systems and relevant models through identifying, investigating and eliminating data failings to enable comprehensive analysis and monitoring to be undertaken.
- Contribute to key projects, activities and initiatives using an open, consultative and team-based approach.
- Develop and maintain relevant reports, processes, tools and frameworks as required.
- Assist with the development and review of contracts, business cases, reports and presentations for stakeholders, managers and customers as required.
- Assist with the completion of various period end financial processes and ad-hoc analysis as required.
About you:
- Bachelor degree within a Finance, Economics, Business, Law or Engineering discipline (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years in a relevant financial, commercial, or strategic analysis role
- Demonstrated high level computer and software skills
- An inquisitive mindset with the ability to question the status quo and critically evaluate problems
