Key Responsibilities:
Conducting Comprehensive Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA):
- Perform detailed CBAs for strategic business cases, evaluating economic, social, and environmental costs and benefits.
- Estimate, validate, and quantify the impacts of different project options in monetary terms.
- Analyse and interpret data to provide insights into the financial viability and overall impact of proposed projects.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to gather relevant data and ensure accuracy in the CBA process.
- Develop and maintain models to forecast economic trends, considering various scenarios and factors affecting project outcomes.
- Through consultation and review, identification and substantiation of economic benefits for each business case in line with Treasury methodologies, underpinned by thorough research and evidence.
- Build and refine economic models to simulate different scenarios and predict the potential outcomes of projects.
- Analyse economic trends and external factors that might influence project performance.
- Provide strategic insights based on economic forecasts to support decision-making processes.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders through comprehensive reports and presentations.
- Translate complex economic analyses into understandable and actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Gain stakeholder buy-in for endorsement of defined benefits, including support from Treasury.
- Proven experience in conducting comprehensive Cost-Benefit Analysis in a business or research environment.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools, economic modelling software, and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in analysis and reporting.
Experience with environmental or social impact assessments in economic analysis.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks related to economic analysis and project evaluation, as per NSW Treasury guidelines.
