ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Financial Controller position is key within the ADT Security Australia leadership team.
Responsible for overseeing the financial integrity of the business unit within our fast-paced evolving landscape.
Initially focused on reestablishing the finance function as the business migrates financial activities (AP and financial accounting) from offshore functions to local teams.
You will be the key contributor to an ERP migration to MYOB Advanced and in establishing of day to day finance activities, creating a stable operating rhythm.
The focus being on finance process improvements, business performance and commercial business partnering activities.
To summarize the role encompasses the following:
- Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting teams
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, account receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Business partner with the General Manager to support business performance management and commercial business partnering activities.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets and provide analysis of budget variances.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practice.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual; financial statements while adhering to relevant reporting requirements.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trend risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with external auditors to ensure compliance to standards and ensure a smooth audit process.
- Implement and optimize financial systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy, considering the unique requirements of the business. Review BAS, FBT returns and other legislative submission responsibilities.

What you will need to be successful:
Management of a team: Building and leading a team of finance professionals to deliver the goals of the finance function for ADT AU. Creating the correct organizational structure and filling that with the right people, with individual KPIs and relevant Position Descriptions, across all key finance functions. Striving to be a leader with a commitment to continuous improvement and celebrating the team’s successes.
Adaptability: Ability to move and adapt in a fast-paced environment and motivate and drive team performance both to complete workloads and achieve KPI;'s. Lead the team to successfully integrate new processes, acquisitions, or agencies into the ADT AU Finance function
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas, and build and maintain relationships.
Networking: Proficient in networking to establish and nurture relationships internally and externally.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to create and analyze financial metrics and adapt strategies, identify opportunities, and develop strategic plans that align with the overall business objectives.
Market Research: Thorough understanding of market dynamics, competitor landscapes, and industry impact to make informed business decisions to adapt process and identify opportunities to meet target.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including sales and service to ensure a unified approach towards business objectives.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess performance metrics, to measure the success of financial reporting, and make data-driven recommendations. Managing the development of all Business Reports and the interpretation of data for different audiences. Ensure ADT AU policies comply with AASB principles
Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and business KPI'S regarding cash flow targets to effectively manage resources and contribute to the organization's financial goals.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and adjust strategies, accordingly, staying agile in response to evolving business landscapes.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and overcome obstacles in the pursuit of goals. Respectful of deadlines and delivering high quality work.
Systems: Strong proficiency in Excel and MYOB with the ability to learn new ERP.
Qualified: Bachelor degree in finance or business.
