The Opportunity,
We are seeking a personable and seasoned Financial Controller to join this exceptional business at their Head Office which is based on the superb Gold Coast. The ideal Candidate will have seasoned experience in the Freight Forwarding industry and will have the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
Duties of the role;
- Managing a small team at the transactional level
- Reconciliations and monthly reporting
- Compliance including BAS/ IAS, PAYG, Payroll tax
- Budgets and forecasts, cashflow analysis
- Manage General Ledge and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Establish Sales and Profit forecasting
- Prepare Monthly Sales Reports, track sales and profitability against forecasts
- Complete Monthly Management Financial reports
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts, budgeting and forecasting
- Foreign Exchange Management
- Creditor and Debtor Management
- Work with Managing Director to improve performance measures
- Develop long-term business plans to minimise company financial risk
- Liaise with external authorities including the ATO and external accountants
- Manage Statutory Requirements
- Manage Accounting IT System and Processes
- Identify and Drive improvements to processes, policies and systems across the team
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
- Report risk issues to the relevant Stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to relevant Company policies and procedures
- Cargo Wise system experience
- CA/CPA qualified with experience in Freight Forwarding industry
- Strong communicator with the ability to liaise with all Stakeholders
- Tech Savvy and knowledgeable in use of Microsoft office
- Ability and willingness to reorganise processes for maximum efficiency
- Able to generate informative presentations and reports for use in making business decisions
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
- Able to problem solve at all levels
- Must have full Australian working rights as sponsorship is not available

- $160,000 - $200,000 plus Superannuation
