MARS Recruitment is collaborating with a company in the property sector, actively seeking a skilled Financial Reporting Manager to join their expanding team and contribute to the success of their thriving organization. As the leader of a small team of financial professionals, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring precise and punctual financial, managerial, and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities will encompass managing monthly financial statements, annual financial reports, board reporting, stakeholder management, treasury oversight, tax compliance, budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and establishing a robust financial controls framework.
This key managerial position requires an individual with a deep understanding of property and funds accounting. Strong managerial skills are essential for effectively mentoring and developing a team. Prospective candidates for this role should demonstrate a commitment to driving improvements and possess robust communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the Financial Reporting requirements of the Group, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
- Managing financial deliverables in collaboration with capital partners.
- Preparing and reviewing stakeholder reports for external funding agencies and stakeholders.
- Collaborating with external finance teams to enhance the quality and efficiency of deliverables.
- Compiling Board papers to report on financial performance.
- Preparing and facilitating the end-of-year external financial audit.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements, as well as Australian Accounting Standards, and reporting on annual statutory and taxation compliance.
- Effectively managing treasury and banking functions, including cashflow budgeting and forecasting.
- Leading and developing the team, providing technical support and guidance.
- Implementing best practice financial frameworks and internal controls.
- Taking charge of finance projects and initiatives to achieve the company's strategic goals.
Criteria:
- 7+ years' post qualification experience
- CA/CPA qualified (or international equivalent)
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Experience in the property or funds sector required
- Demonstrated success in managing small teams
- Profound knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
- Exhibits strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Possesses exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrates outstanding abilities in team management and development
- Proven experience in driving process improvements and implementing controls frameworks
