About the Role
Financial Risk Oversightteam is part of the Chief Risk Officer’s (second line) function. The team provides oversight and challenge to the business and support functions (first line) in managing Financial Risks (i.e., strategic, insurance, credit, market, liquidity, and capital) and achieving financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities will include (however, not limited to the below):
- Delivering on the annual assurance plan covering various business processes and activities relevant to Financial Risks.
- Providing oversight and challenge of Hollard’s insurance and Financial Risk profile.
- Supporting the Financial Risk oversight team in completing ad-hoc risk reviews and preparing papers for the Financial Risk Committee and the Board Risk Committee.
- Liaising closely with the Actuarial, Commercial and Finance functions, as well, as with other risk teams on incidents and issues impacting the Financial Risk profile.
- Maintaining the policies and frameworks related to Financial and Insurance Risk Management.
- Develop awareness and training on Financial Risk related policies or topics including emerging risk.
About You
- Strong analytical skills and capable of detailed analysis and interpretation of financial data.
- Collaborates adeptly, demonstrating effective teamwork, coupled with the ability to engage in critical thinking and operate autonomously.
- Comfortable in engaging with stakeholders from various functions across all levels of seniority.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing complicated concepts in a simple manner.
- Experience in the insurance industry preferable (general or life across any areas such as underwriting, reinsurance, portfolio management and/or actuarial).
- Actuarial, finance or any qualification with quantitative courses (desirable).
