Join the First Nations Health Access Manager in developing and implementing strategies to improve the capacity of general practice and other mainstream primary health care providers to deliver culturally appropriate primary care services, increase awareness and understanding of initiatives for First Nations health outcomes.

About the role 
In this role you will support the strategic objectives of the PHN by further developing and consolidating existing partnerships with Local Health Districts and others to improve care in the whole of the health system producing measurable outcomes in First Nations health as one of the agreed target areas.

The successful candidate will:

  • Identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within your community. 
  • Have a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively with and to effectively engage with First Nations people and communities.
  • Relevant experience in First Nations Health, health promotion, public health or community development.
  • Demonstrated ability to: develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholder’s, influence stakeholder behaviour and the adoption of change, consult meaningfully with the community & develop plans and set priorities.
  • Work autonomously, under the direction of remote management, and effectively form relationships for collaboration between geographically dispersed team members.

Additional Information 

*Salary: This role is classified as Grade F –J within our Enterprise Agreement and the rate will be dependent on skills and experience/qualifications. New appointments are generally between Grade F – I.

The current PHN policy requires employees to have received 3 Primary doses of an approved COVID-19 Vaccination.
