Fitter And Turner - Machine Shop

A career opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced person, this position is a hands-on role. Redmond Gary is a long established, well-respected and growing manufacturer based at Molendinar on the Gold Coast whose diverse range of Elevating Work Platforms and Cable Handling Equipment is highly regarded in the Electrical and Mining industries throughout Australia.

This permanent position is available for a Fitter and Turner be part of our team in our Machine Shop. 

The successful applicant MUST possess the following attributes:

• Qualified Fitter and Turner
• Trade experience with a minimum of at least 10 years
• Experience on manual Lathes, Milling machines, Drilling Machines and Horizontal Borers
• Experience using Tooling, Jigs and Fixtures.
• Must have experience working with Steel/Aluminium/Stainless Fibreglass and Tufnol 
• Must be prepared to work with Composite Materials
• Must understand how to read engineering drawings
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, and have a keen eye as to the detail of finished products
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable
• Has a positive and proactive attitude
• Must have own tools of the trade, all specialised tools are provided for use
• Prepared to work overtime if required
• Forklift License (an advantage but not essential)

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure Company Policies and procedures are followed.
• Understanding of and commitment to OH&S and QA policies and procedures
• Complete machining and fitting tasks as per specifications and time frames.
• Commitment to continuous improvement in producing high quality products.
• Liaise with senior members of the team to achieve on-time delivery
• Positively contribute to achievement of factory performance KPIs.
• Daily checks and maintenance of equipment
