Australian General Engineering is a well respected business within the sheet metal and general fabrication sector. We specialise in areas such as CNC Laser Cutting, CNC Turret Punching, CNC Brake Press Folding, Mig and Tig Welding and also Machining.
About the role
The role that is currently available is suited to someone that is happy and capable to be an All rounder and has the ability to train and work with up to 3 or 4 assistants. The area that you will be working in will be in support of the fabrication team. This will mean setting up and running equipment such as milling, tapping machines, drilling, countersinking, turning, etc of various production parts. Assisting in building jigs and fixtures and also helping with any breakdown or maintenance of our equipment.
The ideal candidate will be someone who thinks for themselves and looks for opportunities to improve our way of business and our facility.

Skills and experience
You must have a proven track record of working with Vertical Milling Machines, Center Lathes, working in a production environment, jig and tooling knowledge and a stable work history.
If you have CNC machining experience, this will be a considerable advantage but not essential!
