Our client is a leader in the Retirement Living space in Australia. They are looking for their next Victorian Area Manager looking after their team and portfolio of villages in Victoria.
THE ROLE
They are seeking an Area Manager based in Melbourne to look after their portfolio of villages in Melbourne and beyond. A team of village managers will report up to you and you will report into the executive. Travel is required for this role, as the team are keen for someone to be hands on in driving their strategy.
Your primary responsibilities are the day to day and strategic management of the portfolio.
The package comprises a 150K base, travel allowance, and short term incentive of up to about 10% of base salary, along with regular reviews.
Key responsibilities:
- Form good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as employees, resident associations and suppliers.
- Drive the organisation's strategy.
- Develop and drive best practise and high performance across all villages in the state.
- Monitor financial performance and provide input in relation to strategy.
- Help mentor and develop the team, as well as provide day to say support as required.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and legislations.
- Drive innovation and good change across the state.
Our client is looking for someone keen to grow and develop as part of their organisation.
Skills / Experience Required:
- Experience as an area/regional manager in retirement, retirement village manager or similar (hotel, hospitality and property management highly regarded, as well as experience with new builds). Team management at a high level key.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to effectively bring about improvements and the best in a team.
- The ability to design programs and initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, delegate and carry out tasks.
- Financial experience, including budgeting analysis and planning.
- Project and change management skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Understanding of risk and compliance issues and management in a setting such as a retirement village.
- Ability to learn relevant legislation quickly.
- Full Australian working rights

- A clear background check or ability to get one.
