Job description
EMF Group currently have multiple permanent roles for Fitter/Welder Qualified Trades. Our employees work within the Coal Handling Preparation Plants (CHPP) as well as general maintenance and shutdown activities. You will be responsible for completing equipment repairs and maintenance to a high standard and to ensure the production plant and utilities operate achieving safe, reliable production.
This role offers 5 days on and 2 days off, our people return home every day for a balanced family life. There is always something to do in Muswellbrook (population of 12,000), go to clubs/hotels and enjoy the country atmosphere or the wineries, movies, join a gym or swimming in modern facilities and sporting activities, play golf, as well as fishing and camping and activities at the lake.
It is only 1 1/2hrs from Newcastle with direct flights to all major cities.

Skills and experience
• Australian recognised Fitter/Welder (mechanical) Trade Certificate/Certificate of Proficiency
• 3 years’ experience in trade
• Previous experience in mining and CHPP or industrial environments is advantageous.
• Order 43 Pre-placement Medical (or willingness to obtain one)
• Current Australian Driver’s License
• Hold a high regard for safety and quality.
• Excellent work ethic with diagnostic skills
Tasks Include:
• cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
• diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
• understand/read drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
• cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines.
• shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools
• aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments.
• joining metal sections using various welding techniques and bolting
