The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Fixed Assets Accountant to join our Finance Operations and Transformation team in Adelaide CBD, Eagle Farm or Thomastown office on a Permanent Full Time basis.
Reporting to the Networks Accounting Team Leader, you will play a key role in is providing high quality service in relation to fixed asset accounting for APA’s investment entities and Networks clients and project control and maintenance for the broader APA group.
Key Responsibilities
Fixed Asset Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate fixed asset registers, reconcile with the General Ledger monthly, and calculate/post monthly depreciation
Financial Data Reconciliation: Monitor CWIP accounts, ensure timely transfers, and assist in preparing reconciliations for accuracy
Inventory and Systems & Process Management: Manage inventory reconciliations, maintain consistent fixed asset processes, adhere to financial policies, and ensure sound internal controls
Project Ledger & ERP Management: Manage project ledgers, resolve ERP interface issues, and complete month-end processes accurately
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in budgeting/forecasting depreciation, provide reports to stakeholders, and address queries promptly
Continuous Improvement & Team Support: Support team deliverables, promote continuous improvement, and collaborate with team members
ERP Maintenance & Allocation Management: Assist in running mass allocations, maintain ERP allocations, and ensure alignment with organizational goals
Your background
Relevant finance tertiary qualifications with membership to an accounting body preferred, or studying towards
Demonstrated experience working in financial or management accounting, experience with inventory activities is beneficial
Experience with a large ERP, such as Workday or SAP
Provide high level of customer service in a focused manner
High level of analytical skills enabling reconciliation of complex transactions
Proactive problem solving skills
Willing to accept and implement process changes within a large organisation
About the Team
The APA Networks business is responsible for operating and maintaining distribution networks for over 1.4 million end user customers nationwide. The Networks team consists of over 600 people in Operational, Capital Delivery, Engineering and various Network Services.
The Networks Finance team support this crucial business in all of its accounting needs, providing financial performance reporting services, including performance reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, system enhancement proposals, processes improvements, and providing quality advice to the business.
