Our client, a well-recognised and respected leader within the transport and logistics industry is looking for an Experienced Fleet Allocator to join their team on a full-time basis.
You will report to the Operations Manager within the Steel Business Unit and you will collaborate within a team of 5 Fleet Allocators who can support you in parting their knowledge and expertise!!
The roles is based in Mayfield and we are seeking someone who has the availability to start as soon as possible. The role will commence as a casual contract with the possibility to lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement the same day transport allocation program of 80+ fleet
- Assist the next day planner with communicating to all company and subcontractor drivers of their next day tasks
- Assist with the coordination of planning and bookings with carrier, customer, rail provider and export Shipments
- Oversee the turnaround times of our vehicles keeping regular contact to provide updates with our core customer
- Monitoring work hours of drivers to ensure they are not exceeded as per NHVR requirements
- Manage and maintain KPI as directed by company and customer
- Articulate emails responses / phone calls in a professional manner
- Planned and ad hoc reporting as required
- Other ad hoc duties as required
To be successful in the role:
- Experience with transport and fleet allocation and/or planning essential
- Strong awareness and knowledge of fatigue management and COR responsibilities
- Ability to lead, coordinate and delegate
- Problem solving skills with high level attention to detail
- Sound computer knowledge in excel data input (SAP advantage)
- Develop and sustain solid relationships with company stakeholders and customers
- Sound knowledge of Newcastle local/regional and Sydney metropolitan areas
- Organised and structured approach to work planning with great time management
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and management skills
- Provide strong and consistent written, verbal communication to senior management and customer contacts where required
- Ability to work unsupervised and collaborate with a busy team
