About the role
As a Fleet Allocator, your role is to allocate and assign jobs to our team of drivers through the internal Operating System. You will ensure this is completed by creating efficiencies and optimising operations to ensure the effective movement of cargo to/from wharf and customer premises.

About the role
- Plan the shift transport function to ensure delivery and receipt of cargo is completed in accordance with allocated timeslots and customer/client requirements
- Allocate jobs to drivers throughout the shift to achieve operational requirements ensuring equality between all drivers shown at all times
- Provide drivers with required delivery paperwork
- Communicate effectively with all drivers, customers & seek advice from the Transport Manager / Supervisor to resolve transport problems as they arise
- Efficient utilisation of the Maximas System data entered 'live' and with nil errors
- Set up requirements for shift bulk runs and transshipments as required
- Track and record all trailer drop outs to reduce risk of equipment loss
- Create and provide accurate client booking and release details as requested
- Timely response to issues raised by major clients with courtesy at all times
- Work within Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations in all areas of role
- Demonstrate inclusive behaviour and show respect for diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives
- Excellent planning and problem-solving skills
- Time management skills ensuring you meet the ongoing requirements of the task at hand
- Sound computer knowledge and able to pick up new computer systems quickly
- Great interpersonal and communication skills

- Focused and compliant with all safe work practices
- Industry based qualification - preferred
- Experience within or genuine interest in supply chain operations
- Understanding Port Operations &/or wharf cartage preferred but not essential
- Identify, assess, and report all known and identified hazards and incidents in the workplace implement effective risk controls utilizing the job safety Analysis process.
- Participate in the monitoring, review, and evaluation of implemented risk controls.
- Stop the task where there is imminent risk beyond the acceptable tolerance of the guidelines in the risk evaluation matric and escalate to the operations Manager as per the escalation protocols.
- Adhere to the requirements of the Safety, Health & Sustainability System procedures and protocols at all times.
- Identify and escalate opportunities for improvement.
- Act within OHS requirements at all times and promote safe working practices within team
