About the Role
Timms Contracting are seeking an experienced Fleet Allocator to become part of our haulage team. During a familiarisation phase, you will work closely with our current Allocator, eventually sharing all duties of the allocation team.
You will be challenged as you multi-task and prioritise under pressure, with timing on deliveries often critical to our customers' business needs.
Duties
- Promote a safe, positive work environment and maintain alignment with company policies.
- Allocation of drivers and appropriate vehicles to meet customer requirements.
- Ensuring key service objectives and KPI's are met.
- Utilise company assets and contractors in a cost-effective manner.
- Manage customer relations.
- Ensure all legislative requirements are met.
- Flexible to take calls as required on weekends.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in transport or logistics, ideally within the Civil Earthworks industry
- Knowledge of Transport Regulations including Fatigue, Chain of Responsibility and Mass Management under NHVR.
- Experience in vehicle/load allocations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with written and verbal communication adeptness.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise under time pressures.
- Self motivated and lead by example
- Industry or other qualifications e.g. Cert IV in Logistics would be beneficial
- Team focus and ability to build relationships with people quickly
- Good IT skills, inclusive of GPS monitoring and reporting systems
