About The Opportunity
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our dynamic team at Don Watson Transport as the Fleet Coordinator. Based at our Melbourne site in Derrimut, and working closely with the Fleet Manager, you will work alongside a friendly and experienced Transport Operations team.
This role is pivotal in supporting the lifecycle management of our current fleet comprising more than 300 vehicles including Trucks, Trailers, and smaller vehicles.
Don Watson Transport is family owned and operated and is one of Australia's leading refrigerated logistics companies offering a diverse range of transport and refrigerated storage solutions. This is a permanent full-time salaried position commencing at 6am Monday to Friday. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Following training your main tasks will be;
- Assisting with Fleet Management activities (scheduling, maintenance, tracking)
- Liaising with Internal Teams to manage the availability of Fleet assets
- Providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and offering solutions
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to the fleet
- Monitoring and analysing fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement
- Aligning daily truck & trailer cross over for operations
- Monitoring fuel consumption and considering strategies for fuel efficiency
- Organising breakdown support for Operations
- Staying updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance fleet operations
What we are seeking
The successful candidate will have internal drive to create continuous improvement, be detailed orientated, customer-service focussed, and have a strong enthusiasm to learn about broader vehicle markets.
You will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong time management skills ensuring efficient task prioritisation
- Ability to engage and manage a diverse range of stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
