Responsibilities will include ensuring the efficient and effective management of our vehicle fleet, including maintenance, safety compliance, cost control, and optimizing fleet utilization.This role will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation resources while maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence. Integrating sustainability into fleet management is becoming increasingly important as we aim to reduce our carbon footprint and demonstrate corporate social responsibility.The Fleet Manager will implement and promote sustainable practices within the fleet management, aiming to reduce the overall environmental impact of the company's vehicle operations. Develop and execute strategies to optimize vehicle utilization, minimizing fuel consumption and emissions, develop and execute strategies to optimize route planning and vehicle utilization, minimizing fuel consumption and emissions.In conjunction with the Senior Fleet Manager, develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet utilization, minimize downtime, and control operational costs across the entire portfolioKeep up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in fleet management.Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Review and approve expenditure within contracted terms and conditions as set out by the fleet contracts
- Monitor and analyse fleet performance data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Support the introduction and oversee the integration of eco-friendly vehicles, such as electric or hybrid cars, into the fleet to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels in a cost-effective manner.
- Proactively develop and manage the relationship with the end user of fleet to ensure services delivery expectations are met and/or exceeded.
- First Point of contact for management of issues/complaints escalated by end-users (Customers or staff).
- Oversee the delivery and performance of the Fleet Co-ordinator to achieve all required KPI's.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to vehicle operation and safety.
- Oversee driver training and safety programs to promote safe driving practices and reduce accidents.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and maintain a high level of service and safety.
- Background in developing and implementing corporate standards and procedures, with extensive experience in managing various fleet portfolios.
- Providing advice, recommendations and thought leadership, based on expertise and experience, to address needs.
- Planning and prioritising what needs to be done (including people, process and technology implications) in order to deliver upon customer/user needs and strategic priorities. This includes identifying, planning for, tracking and resolving dependencies.
- Executing tasks and contracts to source and procure products and/or services from vendors and other suppliers. This includes policy and internal standards as well as monitoring the performance and financial impacts of the contract or service.
- Building, maintaining and influencing relationships to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
