The Fleet Manager plays a vital role in promoting excellence within our Fleet operations, overseeing around 700 vehicles. Situated within our Finance team, they actively seek to optimise efficiency and minimise unnecessary expenses across Operations and Fleet.
This position entails spearheading significant strategic initiatives, enhancing operational procedures, and overseeing the work of a Fleet Administrator. Moreover, it involves ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards and compliance obligations.

A day in the life of a Fleet Manager…
- Manage administrative processes for Aruma's vehicle fleet, including vehicle sourcing, acquisition, and replacement procedures.
- Serve as the data steward for fleet information, ensuring accuracy in financial and non-financial data, including Lease Accelerator.
- Maintain strategic and daily vendor relationships with Fleet Management Partner.
- Review senior queries in fleet mailbox daily, supported by Fleet Administrator.
- Utilise reporting to analyse current leases, making recommendations for replacements or extensions based on financial impact.
- Offer expertise and guidance for vehicle modifications, ensuring compliance with necessary processes.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, providing monthly updates for employee FBT changes and ensuring accuracy in annual FBT return.
- Act as a champion for the Fleet SharePoint site and Power BI dashboard, ensuring content validity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the FP&A team to prepare, manage, and monitor budgets related to fleet operations.
- Lead end-to-end implementation of strategic projects, including one utilising insights software to significantly reduce fleet size and enhance vehicle utilisation.
Skills and Experience which will make you stand out…
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a comparable fleet position, showcasing proficiency in change management within intricate settings.
- Exceptionally organised with a focus on achieving outcomes.
- Proactive and self-directed problem solver.
- Customer-centric approach, adept at handling ad-hoc requests.
- Effective communication skills with moderate business acumen for making commercially sound recommendations.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with telematics and fleet insight software.
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills, fostering a team culture of responsiveness and adaptability.
