About the Role
As the Fleet Manager, you will lead and drive the management of AusNet’s vehicle fleet to facilitate an effective, centralised fleet service to the business, whilst setting the strategic framework for the function as the business and external environment changes. You will have ownership and accountability over ensuring AusNet’s fleet is sustainably managed, whilst being readied for future electrification with appropriate planning and infrastructure considered.
This role will report to the GM, People Operations and is located at Southbank, Victoria.
We are a flexible and truly hybrid workplace.
What you will deliver
- Manage and uplift fleet strategies and policies for the purchasing, operation, maintenance and disposal of fleet, plant and equipment
- Implement strategic initiatives to ensure the fleet continues to meet AusNet’s business needs, whilst considering the impacts of electrification
- Assist fleet users achieve their business needs by providing high-quality service and responsiveness
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety standards, statutory rules, and regulations pertaining to motor vehicle and plant operation and usage
- Effectively manage AusNet’s Fleet Management Service Provider in order to drive efficiencies
- Coordinate and manage the ongoing fleet replacement program, including consideration of annual and long-term budgeting cycles
- Lead audits of the fleets’ performance and be able to prepare detailed analyses and recommendations

- Demonstrated skills and expertise at a managerial level within fleet management
- Ability to develop and implement strategy and policies across an entire fleet portfolio
- Detailed knowledge of fleet management contract administration and associated functions
- Proven experience in managing an external service provider effectively to drive improvement and efficiency
- Experience working with operational teams to ensure maximum fleet, plant and equipment utilisation
- Strong business acumen and a customer service ethos
- Your passion and desire to help us with the electrification of our fleet
