Title: Fluid Management Operator

Type: Full-time

Department: Operations

Reports To: Operations Superintendent

Location: Chinchilla, Australia. Field based with extensive travel required for work.

Position Purpose: 

The Fluid Management Operator plays a pivotal role in managing the daily onsite operations related to Fluid Management at field locations. This includes the preparation, execution, and follow-up stages of Fluid Management tasks, ensuring projects are executed with the highest regard for safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Job Summary: 

The Fluid Management Operator engages in all aspects of Fluid Management, including equipment mobilization, operational support, and technical troubleshooting, to ensure smooth project delivery. This role requires meticulous attention to safety protocols and operational procedures to prevent incidents and maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational:
    • Conduct equipment mobilization and demobilization to prepare for field operations.
  • Work collaboratively with crews to coordinate integrated activities across various product lines.
  • Operate and manage equipment according to specific job requirements, adhering to strict operational and safety standards.
  • Set up and dismantle ponds and Fluid Management systems as per operational needs.
  • Service, maintain, and repair equipment pre and post-operation to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Handle the rigging up and down of various Fluid Management equipment.
  • Adhere to all company, client, and legislative safety policies and procedures, and ensure that all operations comply with environmental regulations.
  • Responsible for the proper usage and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Utilize document control systems, loadout lists, and other procedural documents to a professional standard.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
    • Participate proactively in all scheduled safety meetings and contribute to safety audits to ensure continuous improvement of safety practices.
  • Adhere to and enforce environmental policies set by the company and clients.
  • Assist in efforts to minimize the environmental impact of activities at the work site.
  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Ensure the completion of daily operational and maintenance forms, and the accuracy of data collection and documentation.
  • Report all incidents promptly and follow up as required by Hydrera’s policies.
  • Mentor and help train field trainees, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development.
  1. Specific Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify the accuracy of work programs, equipment maintenance schedules, and certifications.
  • Advise management on the suitability of equipment and operational plans based on specific job parameters.
  • Maintain constant communication with supervisors and field superintendents to ensure alignment on project status and operational parameters.
  • Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated with the latest industry practices and technological advancements.
  • Seek opportunities for career advancement through skills enhancement and demonstrating leadership potential.

Skills and Experience:

Education:

University Degree or trade qualification in related technical field preferred.

Licenses and Certifications: 

Essential

  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Wellsite Permit to Work Rev.3  
  • Industry Safety Induction
  • Construction White Card
  • Senior First Aid
  • Pre-Employment Medical Certificate – Fit to Work
  • Eligible to work in Australia.

Desirable

  • Operate vehicles in the field (4x4 Santos Approved)
  • Confined Space (with BA) Training 
  • Work at Heights
  • High Risk Licence (EWP, Crane)
  • Telehandler
  • May be required to undertake National Police Clearance

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in Fluid Management operations.

Technical Skills: 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of fluid storage and Fluid Management equipment and services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PP, Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle physical demands of field work.

Interpersonal Skills: 

Excellent communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of performing physical tasks required in a Fluid Management environment.
  • Ability to lift more than 20kg and work in various environmental conditions.

Performance Metrics:

  • Compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Efficiency in equipment setup and operation.
  • Efficiency in equipment general maintenance.
  • Accuracy of reporting and adherence to project timelines.
  • Positive feedback on teamwork and project contributions.
  • Achievement of target zero (No harm to people, plant, or environment) related to operational performance and/or reworks.
