About us
RASWA is a not-for-profit member-based organisation with a core purpose to promote Western Australia’s agriculture and produce. RASWA has a broad role including:
- Coordinating the State’s most important annual community agricultural celebration, the Perth Royal Show, that celebrates our heritage, culture and community spirit
- National competitions that benchmark excellence in premium food, wine and beer, agriculture, animals, and the arts
- Venue management of Claremont Showground which hosts up to 100 events each year and
- Promoting and celebrating Food and Agriculture through education, events and industry collaboration.
The Position
In an exciting development, the RASWA team is expanding to include a new Food and Beverage Lead role responsible for the development and promotion of WA Food and Beverage through RASWA initiatives and Showground activities. The role will develop and deliver Food and Beverage offerings for Perth Royal Show, will develop and manage the Perth Royal Food Awards (PRFA) and will work with stakeholders to support events and activities to promote quality WA produce and products.
Key Responsibilities include leading a small team of like-minded Food and Beverage professionals plus:
- Delivery of RASWA key initiatives for Food and Beverage, including monitoring and evaluation
- Operational planning including development and achievement of KPIs for the team
- Oversee the PRFA Award event calendar to showcase Western Australian produce
- Promote and celebrate PRFA producers with a broad range of stakeholders
- Create awareness of the PRFA brand and implementation including showcasing PRFA producers
- Management and coordination of Perth Royal Show and RASWA events’ Food and Beverage offerings
- Creation of unique Food and Beverage events and opportunities
What You Need
With a post-secondary qualification in Hospitality, Management or a related discipline, you will need to be able to demonstrate:
- Significant experience in managing and operating Food and Beverage programs
- A passion for showcasing WA Food and Beverage
- Experience in the creation of unique Food and Beverage events and opportunities
- Proven success in driving revenue opportunities and strong financial management
- Contract and client management experience including negotiation to improve financial and service outcomes
- Outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships within the WA food industry
