Your focus:
A Food Technologist exhibits proven solution design ability with aptitude to continuously develop their skills and provide best in class support to IFF clients. Continues to extend knowledge of ingredients, customer bases, processes and flavor interactions in associated Category applications while developing project planning ability. A Food Technologist works independently on assigned projects and collaboratively on large and must-win projects (may vary based on business needs).
How you will contribute:
Solution Design
- Independently manages time and projects for assigned tasks
- Develops finished product formulations incorporating IFF technologies and meeting industrial
- standards, country specific and client requirements (profile, legal, cost and stability requirements)
- Conducts, and evaluates pilot plant trials and supporting laboratory work to produce reliable data concerning performance of IFF products.
- Works on projects for key local, strategic customers with commercial success
- Refines attributes (taste and texture) language and articulates with team and project members
- Continuously evolves/expands knowledge of ingredients and materials for Product Design
- Maintains and continuously renovates recipe database
- Under guidance, coordinates with Production and Quality departments to participate in successful scale-up trials
- Participates in new concept generation
Innovation & New Technology
- Proficient in use of IT software and databases
- Supports local and regional Creation & Design and Category initiatives under direction from manager
- Successfully demonstrates new technology in appropriate projects
Customer Intimacy & Technical Partnership
- Understands Creative and Design process, cost influence, productivity performance and
- development constraints
- Works in close collaboration with Sales and Marketing, Flavorists, Consumer Research, Regulatory and other departments to support project execution
- Develops internal network to expand design and business knowledge
- Provides Total customer solutions utilizing creative problem-solving skills
- Application and knowledge of Food Standards Code (FSANZ)
What you will need to be successful:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines (such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Human Nutrition)
- 2-5 years experience in a trainee or junior role in the food manufacturing industry
- Pass internal IFF sensory test
