About theposition:

TheForeman position will be responsible for leading and supervisingCouncil teams in the planning of Council related civil constructionand maintenance activities.

TheForeman will lead a team to undertake projects or a part of thetotal works program of a complex nature including managing time,setting priorities, planning and organising own work and that ofteam members and contractors in order to achieveobjectives.

• The salary range for this position is $77,223.52 - $82,594.58 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
• This is a permanent full time position based at the Clifton.
• This position participates in a nine (9) day fortnight.

About the Constructionand Maintenance South Team:

The Construction andMaintenance South (CMS) Branch forms part of the InfrastructureServices Group (ISG) and is responsible for developing andmaintaining community infrastructure including stormwaterdrainage/culverts, footpath/cycleway and road and bridgeinfrastructure assets.  The CMS Branch plays a crucial role indriving capital and operational works projects, our work directlycontributes to improving the lives of local residents. How to be successfulin this position:

• Certificate III in Civil Construction, or completion within 2 years of appointment.
• Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision, or completion within 2 years of achieving the Certificate III in Civil Construction qualification.
• A combination of experience, qualifications, and competence in all aspects of to civil construction. Including but not limited to:
  • Road construction from earthworks to seal.
  • Works on different pavement types.
  • Rural & Urban drainage.
  • Extensive experience in heavy plant operations.
  • Set up & use of level controls / lasers both UPS &GPS
  • Knowledge of IMS Systems including MRTS.
  • Set out and preparation of concrete slabs, footpaths, pram ramps etc;Installation of concrete pipes, pits and culverts and drainage infrastructure;
  • Forming and pouring of headwalls and end structures;
  • Ability to interpret plans and standards.
• WH&S Competency Card for CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
• Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
• Proven ability to manage, supervise, and provide leadership to a small team undertaking civil construction and maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to civil construction and a demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge of programs, policies, and activities.
• Competence in the use of computer software systems including the capacity to effectively use email and ability to acquire the skills to use Council specific software solutions.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills in managing competing priorities in a busy work environment, and capacity to set priorities and work to deadlines.
• Understanding of and commitment to Council’s Organisational Values and Behaviours in Teamwork.
