As the Carer Recruitment Worker, you will provide direct support to the Carer Recruitment Team, helping to identify, train, and assess potential kinship and Foster Carers for the Out of Home Care Program.
Our client is a well-respected organisation that specialises in providing best practice family support, family preservation and out-of-home care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and their families. They partner with families, providing services and support, where children are at risk of escalating within the child protection system or entering out-of-home care. This role will involve;

• Identifying and sourcing potential Foster Carers: A carer Recruitment Officer is responsible for identifying and sourcing individuals or families who are willing and able to become Foster Carers.
• Conducting initial assessments: The officer will conduct initial assessments of potential Foster Carers to determine their suitability for the role. This involves evaluating their skills, experience, and personal qualities.
• Providing information and support: The officer will provide information and support to potential Foster Carers throughout the recruitment process, helping them to understand the requirements and responsibilities of the role.
• Managing the application process: The officer will manage the application process, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and that the necessary checks and references are obtained.
• Developing and implementing recruitment strategies: The officer will work with the Foster Care agency to develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract more potential Foster Carers, which may involve attending events, creating marketing materials, and engaging with the local community.

The requirements for this role include;

• Aboriginality
• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Services or related field
• Case management experience within the Permanency Support Program – Foster Care or Carer Recruitment space 
• Knowledge of issues surrounding child abuse, neglect, trauma and issues experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
• NSW Driver’s License and Working with Children’s Check
