About the role: Ongoing - full-time
The Department of Education is seeking a VPSG6 Freedom of Information (FOI) Manager to lead a dynamic team in a flexible work environment in the Integrity, Assurance and Executive Services Division.
The FOI Manager oversees the department's compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 1982. The FOi Manager is supported by a FOI Team Leader and together lead a team of FOI Officers. The team works with all areas of the department managing multiple FOI requests, liaising with stakeholders and clients (including ministerial offices and schools) and engaging with and advising the department's program areas. The FOI Manager provides authoritative advice to internal stakeholders and oversees FOI appeals to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and reviews and complaints to the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner.
The FOI Manager also oversees reporting and leads business improvement.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Extensive FOI skills and experience • Experience leading a team and supervising staff • Sound judgment and experience providing authoritative advice to senior leadership • Planning and reporting expertise.
