About us: Our hotel has recently rebranded to Cairns Harbourside Hotel, bringing new signage, new tropical vibes and a new, local and supportive management team. Located right on the Cairns Esplanade overlooking Trinity Bay, our hotel boasts 173 stylishly appointed rooms and suites, conference and event facilities as well as our award-winning Harbourside Bar & Kitchen (HB&K).
Responsibilities:
As the Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire the front desk team, fostering a positive and guest-centric culture.
- Guest Relations: Ensure exceptional guest experiences from check-in to check-out, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Training and Development: Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of the Front Office team. Act as a key contact for emergency situations, following established protocols to ensure guest safety and well-being.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless communication and cooperation and contribute to regular meetings.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of service and cleanliness throughout the Front Office area.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Front Office Manager or similar role in a hotel setting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
- Familiarity with hospitality software and reservation systems.
- Experience with Opera PMS would be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of local tropical destinations and hospitality trends is a plus.
- Available to work rotating shifts over a 7-day roster including weekends and public holidays.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel evacuation procedures and assist in training staff on emergency protocols.
- Be an Australian Citizen.
