About the role
Copperwood seeks two proficient and driven Sous Chef to bolster our esteemed
kitchen team. Must be specialized in Italian Cuisine & high-volume preparations.
The Sous chef will be expected to work flexible hours from Mondays to Sundays, with
an immediate commencement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Has experience in putting high quality food on the pass, and maintains high
Standards.
· Has strong leadership and management skills with the ability to create a motivating environment.
· Has experience or knowledge in pasta, pizza and tapas.
· Experience cooking and managing a kitchen team.
· Follows directions and works well within a team.
· Understanding of food health, safety and handling procedures.
· Is an excellent multi-tasker with good initiative.
· Possesses a demonstrable passion for food.
· Has excellent inter-personal skills, maintaining a calm demeanour in high-pressure situations and uses these traits to perform well in a team.
· Is open to having input into seasonal menu design and on-going dish development.
· Seeks to further their skillset and food knowledge by showcasing local produce.
· This is a Full time role and will sit within an established team.
Skills/Experience:
· Possess formal culinary qualifications, such as Certificate III, Diploma, or Advanced.
· Diploma in Culinary Arts, complemented by practical experience.
· Demonstrated track record of success in high-volume hospitality environments,
with a specialization in Italian cuisine preferred.
· Flexibility in scheduling, encompassing availability for weekend shifts and
fluctuating hours as necessitated by operational demands.
· Attention to detail and commitment to upholding stringent food safety and hygiene standards.
· Exceptional interpersonal skills, facilitating effective communication and
collaboration with colleagues at all levels.
· Willingness to embrace continuous learning and adaptability to evolving industry
trends.
· Must have two years experience.
