At Box Hill RSL, we understand that the true measure of an event's success lies not in what is put into it, but in what attendees take away from it. As the Function and Events Manager, your priority will be to ensure that every detail of every event is meticulously planned and flawlessly executed. From coordinating vendors and managing timelines to overseeing logistics and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients to thoroughly understand their requirements and preferences, presenting tailored package options to fulfill their needs effectively.
- Coordinate various services including but not limited to conference facilities, catering, signage, displays, and audiovisual equipment to ensure seamless execution of events.
- Establish and maintain strong rapport with clients and stakeholders, fostering positive relationships through effective communication and attentive service.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of client needs and preferences, proactively facilitating their requests and ensuring satisfaction throughout the event planning process.
- To explore potential new business and sales conversions and be responsible for the departmental marketing plan
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong food and beverage knowledge.
- Communicates effectively through quality written and verbal communication skills, including excellent spelling and grammar.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail is essential.
- Accurate keyboard skills, highly proficient in the use of technology (e.g. Microsoft Office).
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities and apply good judgement.
- Demonstrates sense of urgency with ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Present a professional appearance in personal presentation, communication and correspondence.
- Ability to explore issues analytically and in a sequential manner.
- Awareness of appropriate Government Legislation/Acts appropriate to this position.
- Demonstrates a commitment to teamwork and maintenance of a supportive work environment.
To be the successful candidate, you will have the following attributes:
- Completed Studies at a Tertiary Level in Event Management.
- A minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience within the industry in a similar position or in a premium environment.
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
