Sole Motive owns and manages outdoor running events in Australia. Some of our mass participation events include Run Melbourne, The Canberra Times Marathon Festival, Sandy Port Half and Portsea Twilight. We are looking for a superstar OPERATIONS & EVENTS MANAGER with experience in delivering outdoor road events (e.g. running, cycling, triathlons etc). If you’re passionate about bringing to life event experiences within the events industry we’d love to hear from you. This is a full-time role, however, we are willing to looking at applicants interested in short term contracts, also.

What you will do:
- Event operational planning and delivery of events within an outdoor setting.
- Manage own timelines while leading multiple events across the calendar year.
- Develop project plans and timelines across multiple events
- Manage and implement road event, course development and delivery.
- Implement traffic management plans and manage road closures and public to ensure a safe event.
- Prepare and manage plans and the submission of Authority applications.
- Develop strategies to ensure that all course and operational venue requirements are met and delivered in a professional manner
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and manage the development, implementation and review of course operational processes and procedures involved with delivery of an event
- Develop, manage and reconcile an event budget accurately and within scheduled timeframes, including cost efficient strategies.
- Liaise with external and internal stakeholders, organising and chairing meetings as required.
- Contribute and/or develop event documentation including management plans, emergency plans and risk management plan.
- Manage and lead casual staff and volunteers workforce.
- Physically lead the bump in and out of Events.
- Perform ad-hoc project work as required.
- Actively participate in the Annual Performance Review.
- Observe and practice theSole Motive’sOHS and Quality policy, guidelines and procedures.
To be successful for the position, you will need to demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualification in Event Management or Sports Management or similar.
- 3-5 year's experience
- Personable, confident and ability to be flexible.
- Ability to direct, lead and work within a team environment.
- Able to work on multiple projects autonomously, highly organised and able to function well under pressure.
- Developed organisational skills, time management skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to load/unload multiple event equipment (<30 kgs)
- Competent computer skills - MS Office
