A bit about the role
The Gallery Visitor Services Attendant is responsible for welcoming patrons to our Narre Warren based Bunjil Place Gallery. In your role, you will share knowledge about the precinct and current exhibitions, oversee security of works of art and assist with handling art and supporting public program delivery.
Bunjil Place Gallery’s exhibition program aims to present and promote the best Australian and international art that engages, challenges and inspires our audiences. The Gallery is driven by vibrant artistic programming, contemporary visitor experience and community engagement.

What you’ll deliver
- A welcoming and informative experience for all Bunjil Place patrons.
- Monitor the security of art works, patrons and overall presentation of the precinct and exhibitions.
- Assist with exhibition changeovers, including handling art, packing and documentation.
- General administration duties including retail sales on occasion.
- Support public program delivery as required.
What you’ll bring
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with a varied audience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, Functional Assessment (Medical/physio)
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check (You will require 100 Points of ID including a Birth Certificate or Passport).
