We have an opportunity for an exiting new role to run a new project at Mosaic Multicultural Connections (Mosaic). We are recruiting a Gambling Awareness Multicultural Case Worker on a fixed term basis until February 2026 to lead our programs on responding to problem gambling in local culturally diverse and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.
About the role
This new position reports into the Team Lead Casework and is responsible for leading a project to educate CALD communities on providing information, education activities and specialist case work relating to problem gambling. The role is offered on a part time basis of 24 hours per week and is based in our Hamilton office.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare initial needs-based assessments of potential clients identified through community engagement and outreach activities;
- Case management including developing case plans, supporting clients to access relevant services and meet their case plan goals;
- Provide community education and interventions to raise awareness about the impacts of gambling and promote responsible gambling practices;
- Build partnerships with key stakeholders to actively facilitate engagement and referral to gambling help services.
About you
Ideally, you will bring to this position:
- Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver case management services to clients from multicultural and refugee backgrounds, including group programs.
- Cultural competence with genuine empathy and interest in working in a multicultural workplace.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing community engagement or public health programs.
- A Certificate IV in Services Coordination (Ageing and Disability) or Cert. IV in Community Services Coordination, or equivalent qualification and experience in community education or public health programs
