We have an exciting opportunity to join our Product team as an Assistant Garment Tech. The Assistant Garment Technician will work alongside the Design/Production Team & Warehouse/Online Team to ensure the efficient, and quality control of all stock before giving final approval for warehouse and online. Reporting into the Lead Designer, this role will support all technical and construction aspects.
A little about the role…
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Design and Production Team, attending fit meetings to prepare comments for offshore suppliers.
- Attend fittings with the Designer and provide measurements of all samples from 1st fit to production QC check.
- Assist in providing fit comments from 1st fit through to final PP for Production.
- Check over design sheets before production approval.
- Follow up on any queries or fit issues promptly.
- Approve correct care labels for every garment.
- Check all shipping samples and follow up with shipping sample reports.
- Check all production and follow up with QC production reports.
- Ensure spec tech packs are properly stored and updated on the shared server.
- Provide garment construction methods and solutions to meet quality and finishing expectations.
- Ensure spec tech packs are comprehensively populated and complete for offshore suppliers, detailing construction, quality, trims, and care labels instructions.
- Communicate feedback clearly, concisely, and timely to suppliers.
- Plan, organize, and structure workload effectively.
A little about you...
- Possess fabric knowledge and experience dealing with various product categories such as woven, denim, swimwear, intimates, cut & sew, and true knitwear.
- Have strong experience working with care labels, wear testing, and fabric testing.
- Demonstrate excellent experience in all facets of QA requirements from sampling to bulk.
- Maintain a strong understanding of critical paths and adhere to timelines.
- Possess excellent garment construction knowledge for both fitting and quality.
- Exhibit technical knowledge and industry experience.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and commitment to building strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
